Overview

SoluStaff is actively recruiting a Solutions Architect (Data Management & Migration) for its customer, a large government organization in Philadelphia.  The Solutions Architect will be responsible for modernizing our customer’s technology platform, improve services delivery and safety of personnel, and facilitating information sharing and collaboration with Public Safety and Justice partners.  The Solutions Architect will analyze and translate business, information and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint that outlines solutions to achieve business objectives.  This position can be performed remotely.

Responsibilities

 

  • Designs and leads the implementation of a data / information architecture across Program applications and technologies based on business strategy, business capabilities and business requirements.
  • Defines the principles, guidelines and standards to ensure data decisions are aligned with the Customer’s architecture vision.
  • Understands business drivers and business capabilities (future and current state),and determines corresponding system designs and change requirements to drive the organization's targeted business outcomes.
  • Develop and implement integration strategies across the Program.
  • Designs and directs the data governance activities associated with ensuring solutions architecture assurance and compliance.
  • Ensures fitness of systems and infrastructure to the data architecture and identifies when it is necessary to modify projects to accommodate the solutions architecture.
  • Identifies the organizational impact (for example, on skills, processes, structures or culture) and financial impact of the data architecture.
  • Documents all data architecture design and analysis work.
  • Leads the data migration work groups and activities.
  • Eradicates business disruption by identifying error trends, performing root cause analysis and enriching the knowledge base.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 7+ years of cumulative experience in multiple IT areas, including data and information architecture, database management, database technologies, data migration, business intelligence (BI) and analytics.
  • 3+ years of relevant data migration experience.
  • 3+ years of project management experience, preferably leading projects.
  • Understanding of strategic and emerging technology trends, and the practical application of existing and new technologies to evolving business and operating models.
  • Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of architecture, application design, systems engineering, and integration.
  • Understands, advocates, and augments the principles of IT strategies
  • Experience and knowledge on how to develop conceptual, logical and physical data modelling for legacy systems
  • Experience identifying and defining data gaps and challenges during data migration efforts of system implementations
  • Understanding of source to target mapping
  • Experience in data profiling and data analysis with an enterprise view of the application landscape, understand the impact on other systems
  • Knowledge and experience in defining data policies and standards related to data privacy and security, data quality, etc.

 

Highly Desired/Preferred

  • Previous Public Safety industry experience
  • Understanding of business processes on inmate management and inmate services
  • Previous exposure to Jail Management Systems implementations
