Overview

SoluStaff is actively recruiting for an Interim Chief Information Officer (CIO) for its client, a government organization in Center City Philadelphia.  The Interim CIO will provide enterprise-wide vision, leadership and strategic direction in the planning, implementation, management, and operation of information technology.

Responsibilities

  • Lead IT strategic and operational planning to achieve organizational goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT systems across the organization.
  • Develop a long-term technology road map along with interim plans to provide immediate short-term improvements in existing systems. Continually monitor the plan and revise as needed to anticipate and adequately meet future needs.
  • Plan for the retirement of critical legacy applications; develop and execute a plan for application modernization
  • Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including PCs, laptop computers, tablets and other mobile devices, servers, operating systems, applications, hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Develop and support processes for prioritizing, executing, and maintaining IT projects.
  • Identify opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT systems and resources, including staffing, sourcing, purchasing, and in-house development.
  • Establish and maintain strategic IT service provider partnerships.
  • Advise and recommend opportunities to optimize service levels and cross-collaboration between IT and business leaders.
  • Oversee the regular assessment of IT data security, risk management, disaster recovery, business continuity to ensure processes are in place.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork among the technology staff and build a strong staff commitment to exemplary customer service.

Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent; Masters / MBA preferred
  • At least 15 years of IT experience in roles with increased levels of leadership responsibilities, with a proven history leading and managing an information technology operation for a complex organization.
  • Executive presence and the ability to effectively communicate across varying audiences.
  • Experience with government organizations preferred
  • Ability to create a technology road map that will scale and meet current and future business needs.
