Overview

SoluStaff is actively recruiting a Senior HIPAA Privacy consultant for an engagement with a government healthcare organization.  The Senior HIPAA Privacy consultant will be responsible for assessing our customer’s compliance with the HIPAA Privacy regulations.  This is a contract position.

Responsibilities

  • Perform privacy and compliance program assessments and deliver consulting services
  • Manages and performs initial and periodic privacy risk assessments, mitigations and remediations
  • Conduct HIPAA privacy assessments, OCR audit readiness reviews and mock audits, healthcare compliance program assessments
  • Produce reports of findings documenting assessment results with recommendations to assist clients in improving their compliance programs and positioning
  • Present clients with assessment results, and provide tactical and strategic recommendations to ensure compliance.
  • Develop and deliver training and education materials to ensure compliance with HIPAA requirements are met.
  • Research and provide ongoing advice and guidance about HIPAA and other health information confidentiality-related laws, regulations, and guidance,
  • Create policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the requirements under HIPAA and other applicable health information privacy and security laws and regulations
  • Contribute the continuous improvement and development of a HIPAA Privacy program

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health information management, business, healthcare, or related field along with a minimum of 2 years work experience in monitoring compliance with privacy regulations, a HIPAA Privacy program, or in healthcare compliance.
  • Education/training related to HIPAA Privacy and/or effective healthcare privacy/compliance programs.
  • 3+ years’ experience overseeing compliance with HIPAA and other privacy regulations
  • Experience completing assessments with privacy and compliance frameworks and best practices
  • Experience with government healthcare organizations
  • Possess compliance certifications including CHC, CHRC, CHPC, and/or CCEP, or other relevant compliance certifications
  • Extensive knowledge of the HIPAA Privacy and Security regulations
  • Previous experience assessing compliance with HIPAA Privacy regulations
  • Experience developing HIPAA Privacy policies and procedures
  • Thorough understanding of the functions of healthcare operations in a hospital, community, health center, or ambulatory outpatient setting
