    SoluStaff is actively recruiting a Senior Firewall Engineer for its customer, located in Center City Philadelphia.  The Senior Firewall Engineer will be responsible for the migration of our customer’s  firewall platform, from CheckPoint to Juniper, as well as on-going operation, maintenance and administration of the Juniper firewall environment. 

    Responsibilities

    • Perform analysis of existing CheckPoint firewall rules
    • Recommend strategy for firewall rules cleanup  
    • Provide plan to create new firewall rules
    • Provide a performance test plan for migration to Juniper platform
    • Provide test plan for deploying new rules on Juniper platform
    • Manage firewall and proxy request queue, including prioritizing requests, updating status and contacting the requestor for additional information as needed.
    • Implement firewall rule changes for Checkpoint firewall within the customer’s existing change control process.
    • Implement VPN rule changes for Checkpoint firewall within the customer’s existing change control process.
    • Implement proxy rule changes for the BlueCoat proxies within the customer’s existing change control process.
    • Perform periodic rule analysis and recommend optimization
    • Coordinate with customer and Juniper staff on implementation tasks related to firewall rule migration, loading and testing in Juniper firewall.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
    • 8+ year’s experience configuring/administrating various CheckPoint and/or Juniper firewall technologies.
    • Strong experience analyzing firewall rules for large, enterprise customers, with a focus on superseding rules
    • Experience with networking and TCP/IP, DNS, load-balancing, network routing with BGP
    • Strong analytical and quantitative capability with attention to detail
    • Forward thinking, ability to identify and contribute to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow
    • Organization ability to prioritize work and deliver on time against project plans
