Overview

SoluStaff is actively recruiting an experienced Solarwinds Implementation Specialist. The Solarwinds Implementation Specialist will be responsible for implementing reliable escalation monitoring solutions to enable early detection of existing supported severs that are in place in Solarwinds. The Software Implementation Specialist will be responsible for assisting in the design and deployment of additional Solarwinds services (Virtualization Manager, Storage Resource Manager, IP Address Manager, Network Performance Manager, Audit and Log).

 

The majority of work is to be performed on customer site, which is located in Center City Philadelphia, PA.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with build out of Solarwinds monitoring solutions servers, applications, network devices using WMI, SNMP, PowerShell
  • Implement alerting escalation
  • Create PowerShell scripts to fill monitoring gaps that SolarWinds doesn’t provide
  • Provide best practices recommendations to help filter out false positive alerts 
  • Perform gap analysis for immediate relief on False-positive and non-actionable alerting
  • Assist in developing metric based reporting for IT management
  • Collaborates with Infrastructure and Application Owners to implement custom application monitors
  • Create new documentation and update existing documentation
  • Make recommendations on where improvements can be made within Solarwinds environment
  • Provide training to Solarwinds administrators

Qualifications

  • Three to five years managing & designing Solarwinds solutions:
  • (SAM, Virtualization Manager, Storage Resource Manager, IP Address Manager, Network Performance Manager, Web Performance Monitor)
  • Minimum of 5 years supporting Windows Server Environment (Windows 2008, Windows 2012)
  • General understanding Networking IP schema (LAN and WAN) environments
  • General understanding of Vmware vSphere
  • General understanding of EMC Storage
  • General knowledge of SQL Server architecture
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing to IT and non-IT staff
  • Scripting experience such as PowerShell a must
