SoluStaff is actively recruiting a Mainframe Systems Analyst for its customer in Center City Philadelphia.  The Mainframe Systems Analyst will be responsible for the analysis of existing CICS, Job Control Language, (JCL and Procedure libraries) and COBOL Code to determine system integration points between current legacy systems relative to targeted replacement systems to identify all data touch points, recommend and document interface needs reviewing data file layouts and assisting in the mapping of data from the legacy system to a new Oracle HCM ERP.


  • Recommend best approach for legacy systems given the customer’s intended functionality of the new replacement system.
  • Definition of data and transactions needed for replacement system to communicate with other legacy systems.
  • Work closely with customer team to define integration points.
  • Analysis of existing code to implement modifications.
  • Adherence to customer standards and procedures.
  • Tests enhancements to coding changes.
  • Writing interface specifications and documentation.
  • Modification of JCL for production changes.
  • Creating and testing the necessary file transfer processes.


  • Proficiency in systems analysis.
  • Proficiency in CICS and Batch COBOL.
  • Proficiency in TSO MVS JCL.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing to IT and non-IT staff.
  • Skilled in testing theory and procedures.
  • Ability to analyze and formulate solutions to complex problems.
  • Ability to design and recommend efficient solutions to requests.
  • Meets the requirements of the set time schedule.
  • Experience in performing the needed analysis for application replacements for new application systems and with a continuing legacy environment.
  • Experience working with Payroll and Time Keeping applications is a plus.
