SoluStaff is actively recruiting a senior-level Solutions Architect to lead the requirements process for the redevelopment of a legacy IT system (currently configured as an Access 2016 frontend with a SQL 2008 R2 backend) for its Philadelphia-based customer. The ideal candidate will be able to synthesize business and technical information to produce a comprehensive document that clearly communicates the required system functions. It is critical that candidates be detail-oriented and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.


  • Analyze current configuration and function of legacy IT Application
  • Determine technical system requirements of to-be IT Application.
  • Research, evaluate and recommend alternative system solutions
  • Schedule and Conduct Stakeholder interviews
  • Develop Use Cases
  • Requirements management
  • Generate requirements documentation
  • Craft technical system requirements that can then be used to facilitate the drafting of a Request for Proposal
  • Research off-the-shelf and custom configuration solutions for system requirements


  • BS/BA in computer science, business or related field required + MS in computer science, information science or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience leading, developing or delivering solutions, at least 3 to 5 years of experience as an architect.
  • Familiarity with Utilities or Infrastructure environments highly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to understand and translate users’ business needs, tasks and goals into an optimal user interface/user experience.
  • Served as a team lead for requirements gather; extensive experience with business process definition, best practices, and re-engineering
  • Experience with web applications, cloud hosting, and off-the-shelf software is required
  • Ability to research and assess strategic technology trends in an objective fashion, acting as a trusted advisor to the client in the expenditure of government funds in the most practical and effective manner
  • Strategic thinking, problem solving, strong conceptualization, analytical, and logic skills.
  • High degree of professionalism, with the ability to deliver solid work on tight schedules.
