Overview

SoluStaff is presently seeking an Enterprise Architect to support our client in Philadelphia.   The Enterprise Architect will be supporting the Company's Information Technology functions and processes.

Responsibilities

 

  • Design, prototyping, vendor selection and improvements of current solutions of core technology architecture and security architecture.
  • Participate in long range planning and ensure those plans are consistent with business objectives for end user capabilities, system resiliency, disaster tolerance, and compliance.
  • Take a lead role in setting the systems technology and automation vision for the organization, define projects and execute them to achieve that vision alongside other members.
  • Lead the definition of an architectural vision, roadmap, assumptions and guidance. Presides as the internal to determine product and infrastructure technical strategies.
  • Mentor, act as role model, and design the technology and frame work solutions
  • Ensure applications and technology infrastructure are designed and built to scale, perform smoothly and remain highly available.
  • Identify opportunities for both incremental and transformational improvements to engineering productivity (software deployment, designing, writing and testing production code, creating unit and automated regression tests, etc.) and advocating and implementing solutions.
  • Create an environment that maps to a philosophy of Architecture as a Service and Shared Services model that works at the behest of the various technology teams minimizing inefficiencies.
  • Understand, advocate, and augment the principles of technology strategies; guiding engineering and infrastructure teams toward common and compatible methodologies.
  • Analyze enterprise business drivers to determine business information and technical architecture requirements.
  • Analyze current information technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
  • Stay up to date with technologies to ensure the correct toolset serves the organization presently and into the future.
  • Analyze emerging industry and market trends in the field of engineering of world class online systems and determine potential impact upon the enterprise.
  • Provide the business with plans and alternatives to meet business objectives through first and third party software solutions perform buy vs. build analysis.
  • Internally the architecture process, its outcome, and ongoing results through effective communication and influencing skills.
  • Define the principles to guide technology decisions for the enterprise that manifest in sound and complete architecture concepts and assure consistent platform and user experience across all product deliverables.
  • Oversee technical architecture implementation and modification activities including architecture review processes and risk assessments.
  • Oversee the evaluation and selection of hardware and software product standards, and the design of standard configurations.
  • Provide direction and technical expertise for the team and act as senior resource for all existing and new initiatives and complex projects, including systems, capacity planning, system deployments, and system and network installs/configurations.
  • Analyze and problem-solve complex technical issues with minimal supervision, and work within a team environment while communicating well to a diverse set of colleagues.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in IT or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of hands on experience with archhitecture of Infrastructure to include, security, storage and backup / recovery technologies including Hardware & Software
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in storage, backup, recovery, security and/or data management.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience leading enterprise wide storage implementations
  • Experience designing / deploying Information Management Lifecycle solutions 
  • Experience in Data center (including application and data) migration / consolidation. 
  • Experience in Datacenter/Server/Network Operational Components (Monitoring, Management, etc.) 
  • ITIL concepts or certification preferred
  • This role requires very strong administrative and technical leadership, oversight in planning, design, implementation, operation and control of large, complex Linux/Windows and Virtualization technology environments.
