Overview

SoluStaff is actively recruiting a highly motivated, detail oriented Information Security Analyst for our client located in Brooklyn, New York.   The Information Security Analyst will primarily be responsible for day-to-day operational and security services via the service ticketing system, in addition to assigned security projects as needed.

Responsibilities

Duties will include:

  • Monitor and respond to production request sent via the service ticket
  • Monitor and run reports for Active Directory auditing; Dell/Quest Software Suite
  • Monitor and report on E-Mail Security Gateway threats and suspicious activities
  • Administer and support the Symantec Endpoint Security Server
  • Run scheduled vulnerability scans report and analyzes vulnerabilities
  • TSS Violation reports (monthly review)
  • Information Security License report review   (maintenance due dates, license management, etc.)
  • Security Awareness Training program delivery
  • System of Applicability (SoA) Risk Worksheet data gathering for analysis
  • Responsible for Re-certification and Entitlement
  • Coordinated provisioning and de-provisioning of users
  • Risk assessments and analysis of system vulnerabilities on the agency
  • Creating an executive reporting standard utilizing a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)
  • Develop network and business systems, assurance metrics on identified risk indicators, and maintain and update the organizations recertification and entitlement operations

 Must Have:

  • Experience with Windows, Linux, UNIX and Citrix Thin Client environment
  • Ability to recommend Operating System hardening for all environments and systems
  • Possess a broad knowledge of information security system controls (e.g. ISC2, ISACA, CompTIA certified) and knowledge to identify technical, operational and business risks
  • Able to multi-task, be pro-active in project planning and requirements gathering and capable of setting priorities based on impact and risk to the business without supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including negotiation, problem resolution and customer service
  • Experience with any two of the following areas: Data Leakage Prevention, Endpoint Security, Intrusion Prevention Systems, Integrity Controls, Encryption, Access Controls, Incident Response Procedures, Log Management, and Anti-Malware controls a plus
  • Experience presenting security awareness training and planning awareness programs desirable

Preferred Experience:

  • Strong Active Directory security experience
  • Prior experience as an Information Security Analyst or Information Security Administrator
  • Prior and proven experience in Information Security Awareness training, planning and delivering training content

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as an IT professional, with strong support and customer service experience
  • Possess at least one Certification from the following: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Risk & Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP) or SANS GIAC (ISO-27001 preferred, but not required), Security+, or MCSA certified.
  • Possess strong business acumen with excellent communication skills
  • Must have good presentation skills and comfortable communicating with mid and executive management.
  • Strong documentation skills in policy and standards writing in addition to operational procedures.
  • Ability to demonstrate complicated examples with visual illustrations for non-IT users
  • Strong organizational skills and time management skills required
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Project, MS Excel, MS Visio, and SharePoint
