SoluStaff is actively recruiting a Data Architect - Modeler for our Healthcare client in Manhattan. The ideal candidate must have Service Management (configuration management) database project experience, specifically in  analyzing requirements, creating normalized data models (3NF) to ensure data integrity and avoiding data redundancy, and converting these to optimized physical schema.  In addition, the candidate must have experience in large, complex Healthcare environments.  This is a three month contract position.


  • Analyze and define data architectures and data models for operational (OLTP) and analytical (data mart/warehouse) applications
  • Understand table structures, primary/alternate/foreign keys and integration patterns
  • Create conceptual and logical data models that can translate to robust and efficient physical data models
  • Ability to translate business requirements into data models and database design through requirements analysis, technical discussions and “white-boarding” sessions
  • Ability to perform and deliver the following: 
    • Review business requirements, define solution data architecture and conceptual data model
    • Define logical modeling standards and logical data model
    • Define database design standards and physical data model
    • Define analytic data requirements and analytic data model


  • A Bachelor of Science degree in a computer and or business related field or equivalent combination of IT skills and experience
  • Experience with multiple database systems, particularly Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server
  • Must have 6+ years of Data Architecture experience
  • Understanding of data integration/ETL (extract-transform-load), data quality, reference data and metadata
  • Excellent documentation skills, strong experience with Microsoft Visio and CA ERwin data modeler
  • An understanding of IT service management,  and experience with FrontRange HEAT or another Service Management product
  • Prefer experience in the healthcare industry (particularly academic medical centers or large hospitals), and good understanding of “Provider” and “Patient” domains
  • Must possess excellent negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills for working with individuals and teams at all levels of the organization
  • Knowledge of IT systems, processes and capabilities in an enterprise environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite: PowerPoint, Word, Project, Excel, SharePoint and Visio
  • Possesses problem solving, team building and conflict management skills
